Tšellopoisid released their first live video as a trio. Previously, Tšellopoisid have performed as both a duo and a band, but now their trio lineup marks a new musical direction.
The trio consists of the original TÅ¡ellopoisid members, Kaspar Kluge and Karret Sepp, along with Finnish rockânâroll drummer Jeremia Kangas. Jeremia has been involved with the TÅ¡ellopoisid band from nearly the very beginning â those who have attended their concerts are surely familiar with his long drum solos and charisma.
The trioâs show is full of surprises and patriotic spirit: the show begins and ends with Estonian choir classics (âLaul Põhjamaast,â âTa lendab mesipuu pooleâ), interspersed with more intense pieces (âInimene õpib,â âSmooth Criminal,â âIsamaa ilu hoieldesâ). âAs a trio, we aim to offer surprises and a âwowâ effect. Weâve thought long and hard about how to merge Estonian choir classics with the symbiosis of two cellos and drums made famous by 2CELLOS,â described Kaspar Kluge. âWe definitely want to start using this format as opening or closing acts at events.â
The video was recorded by the Backstage Records team at this summerâs Võnge Festival, at the Estonian Open Air Museum after the official festival area was closed.
